Live Nisab Calculators: Check Your Zakat Eligibility for 2026

Because gold and silver prices change constantly, determining the exact Nisab value on your own can feel confusing. We built these live Nisab calculators to do the heavy lifting for you. Select a tool below to check today’s accurate thresholds instantly.

Why You Must Check the Nisab First
Many Muslims mistakenly pay Zakat without verifying if they actually meet the Nisab requirement, while others delay payment because they assume they do not qualify.
We designed these tools to give you absolute clarity. When you use our calculators, you eliminate the guesswork. You simply input the current metal rates from your local jeweler, and the calculator instantly tells you the exact cash value of the Nisab. From there, you just compare it to your current savings and assets.
If your wealth sits above that line, you can confidently move over to our [Zakat Calculators] (Link to /zakat-calculators/) to fulfill your obligation.
Gold vs. Silver Nisab: Which Should You Choose?
During the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the value of 87.48 grams of gold roughly equaled the value of 612.36 grams of silver. Today, the global markets value gold significantly higher than silver. This creates two very different Nisab thresholds.
So, which one do you follow?
Islamic scholars (Ulama) strongly advise using the Silver Nisab. Because the silver threshold represents a much lower cash value, using it means more Muslims qualify to pay Zakat. This beautiful approach distributes more wealth to those in need, fulfilling the core social purpose of Zakat. We always set our primary calculators to default to the silver standard for your cash and business assets.
Frequently Asked Questions About Nisab
1. Does the Nisab value change every day?
Ans. Yes, the cash value of the Nisab fluctuates daily alongside global gold and silver market prices. You should check the Nisab value on the exact day your Zakat anniversary (Hawl) arrives.
2. What happens if my wealth drops below the Nisab during the year?
Ans. According to the Hanafi school of thought, fluctuations during the year do not break your Hawl, provided your wealth meets the Nisab at the very beginning and the very end of your Islamic year. However, if your wealth completely drops to zero during the year, your Zakat clock resets.
3. Do I calculate Nisab using 22k or 24k gold rates?
Ans. You must calculate the Nisab threshold using the value of pure 24-karat gold. Even if you own 22k or 18k jewelry, the benchmark for the Nisab itself always relies on the pure 24k market rate.
